Justice.gov.uk - This site links to a directory of local legal advice services, with information on whether you qualify for legal aid. Please note that these pages replace a lot of what was on the Community Legal Advice site a snapshot of which is available from the National Archives. The Legal Services Commission fund Law Centres which provide help throughout the country. There is now more information about legal aid on the gov.uk website.
Law information at Victoria Library- Access to legislation, cases, directories etc.
Infolaw - Long established gateway to law websites and related organisations.
Legal Resources Portal - Independent site with sections for individuals, companies, lawyers and students.
legislation.gov.uk - The official revised edition of legislation of the United Kingdom (including the devolved governments) made available online. Remember too that Hansard is available from both the Parliament website and the Hansard archive if you wish to research what was said throughout debates on bills/acts.
BAILII - The British and Irish Legal Information Institute. Databases of case law and legislation from both the UK and Ireland. Also links to other useful information sources from around the world including: World Legal Information Institute which also has a great many databases and links to various legal information sources around the world.

Find a Solicitor - Searchable directory from The Law Society.
The Legal Hub - Site for legal professionals which also includes a Bar directory and a Directory of expert witnesses.
Her Majesty's Courts and Tribunals Service - Many of these pages are now on Justice.gov.uk with links to a range of leaflets to download and print out, and the Court and tribunal finder with alphabetical listings of law courts by type.
Ministry of Justice - (formerly the Department for Constitutional Affairs) The government department responsible for the court system and human rights law. Includes Civil Procedure Rules and Criminal Procedure Rules.

Police & crime

Metropolitan Police - London's law enforcement. Now includes Ask The Police, with answers to many frequently asked questions.
Crime and policing in England, Wales and Northern Ireland - Facts and figures about the police. Click on the ‘Find Your Neighbourhood” button for local information.

Studying law
